A secret Lost amongst bees Buzzing from flower to flower Causes my heels to turn And my direction to change Under flickering beams And canopies of branches. I was whole here, Alive. Knew that truth rotted Like a birch split By a black sky's angry glare. Yet I wandered Explored until my heart burst My head sprouted sweat beads And my feet ached Like uprooted saplings, To find a hope Under chips of dead bark. In my grasp, The sun. Warm. Happy. I stood, hearing buzzing of bees Returning from battle, Whispering back A secret I had lost.
